• Sify helps in setting up the center, providing the market visibility aids, relevant marketing support, as well as training of the e-port personnel.
• You will be part of the chain of over 2000 Sify e-ports and also have the benefit of being associated with a nationally known brand that is synonymous with cyber cafes.
• Each e-port has a standardized look and feel pertaining to its four key components: hardware, software, ambience, and services.
• The business model is a subscriber-based model. The key to any business is not just acquisition but retention of its customers. It is therefore imperative that we get our customers to stay with us. A subscriber-based model helps us to do just that. It will also give us an opportunity to learn and serve our customers better.

Ideally, our partners should be…

• Business savvy with 4-5 years experience
• Hardworking and willing to contribute to a winning team
• Should have personal integrity, interpersonal skills and aptitude for customer service
• Able to invest at least Rs 5 - 6 lakhs (for a 10 PC center - investments would increase depending on the size and number of PCs)
• Able to handle internal resources, like manpower/ people
• Positively inclined to customer interface and be comfortable with computers and the dynamic Internet environment
• Personally involved and focused on the business
• Able to rise above the short term profits, and have a long term vision for the business

As a franchisee, you will be responsible for...

• Creating the e-port within the allotted period in line with Sify specifications and in tandem with all agencies/vendors involved
• Maintaining customer/sponsor relationships and function as an ambassador of Sify
• Setting up the e-port by investing in fixed assets in the location (which would include space for the outlet, interiors, furniture, PCs etc.)

• Space (own/rented - a minimum of 200 sq ft)
• Hardware (computers- brands and specifications will be as specified by Sify)
• Software (licensed operating systems and office application suite)
• Interiors (painting, wiring, cabling and lighting)
• Air conditioner (as required)
• Furniture (web stations and chairs)
• A franchisee fee and partially refundable security deposit
• For a set up of 10 PCs, the approximate investment expected from the franchisee on the         above mentioned items is approximately Rs 5 - 6 lakhs (excluding the cost of real estate)

• Aggressive and proactive customer acquisition and retention (ensure footfalls to your outlet)
• Effective implementation of all BTL plans/on-ground/promotional activities
• Gathering market/competition information in your defined catchment area
• Sale of sify’s range of products and services
• Daily operations as per the company policy
• Regular co-ordination with the Sify personnel in implementing plans and procedure
• Periodic reporting of the operational issues and accounting through specific tools designed for the purpose
• The presence, appearance, knowledge and behaviour of the café host/administrator
• Maintaining a secure environment for cash collection, custody and transfer to an authorized bank account or to a Sify office
• The general upkeep and maintenance of the infrastructure and ambience in the e-port

Terms and conditions for franchisees while operating an e-port

1. All government rules and regulations including, but not limited, to State, Central legislatures, Acts, Rules etc. relating to or running of e-port have to be followed.
2. Proper license or registrations under Shops and Establishment Act, ESI and PF Act etc has to be obtained.
3. Rules and regulations issued from time to time by any governmental authorities with regard to browsing and viewing of Internet sites have to be adhered to.
4. No parallel broadband connectivity (broadband service of another competing service provider) may be provided by the e-port.
5. Access will not be provided/ allowed for any obscene or other prohibited sites inside the e-ports.
6. Conditions stipulated in the franchisee agreement and regulations laid down by Sify must be strictly followed.
7. Only licensed, legal software will be used on all PCs inside the e-port.
